Day 5 of 2025 SASES Programme and Closing Ceremony

SASES Programme Closes on High Note with TY Danjuma Foundation and Sokoto Education Commissioner in Attendance The fifth and final day of the SASES (Salvaging Science Education in Our Schools) Programme concluded on a successful note, highlighting critical educational interventions and collaboration between government and private stakeholders. The event saw the participation of two representatives from the TY Danjuma Foundation—Mr. Tersoo Akula and Ms. Rachael Ife—as well as the Commissioner of Education for Sokoto State and Deputy Director Quality Assurance Ministry Education Sokoto, Principals etc . In his remarks, Mr. Akula emphasized the urgent need for increased government investment in education across Sokoto State. He highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships to elevate science education and announced the donation of textbooks to three schools: Nana Girls Secondary School, NAGARTA College, and the Sultan Maccido Institute of Qur’an and General Studies. This gesture aligns with the Foundation’s broader mission to support underserved communities and improve access to quality learning resources. The Sokoto State Commissioner of Education commended the initiative, affirming the government’s continued efforts to enhance the education sector. He pointed to existing reforms and new programs aimed at improving infrastructure, teacher training, and curriculum delivery. He welcomed the TY Danjuma Foundation’s involvement as a valuable boost to the state’s progress in the education sector. A key highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of certificates to 60 Master Trainers who successfully completed the SASES Programme. These educators underwent intensive training aimed at revitalizing science teaching methodologies and boosting student engagement in public schools across the state. The SASES Programme is Funded by TY Danjuma Foundation and Implemented by Alkali Hussaini Foundation.
