Day 2 of the SASES Programme: Strengthening Teaching Capacity for Quality Education Delivery

Day 2 of the SASES Programme marked another significant step toward enhancing quality education delivery through focused teacher training and professional development. As part of the 2026 training series, the session brought together 70 Master Trainers from diverse subject areas, united by a shared commitment to transforming teaching and learning practices at the grassroots level.

Funded by the TY Danjuma Foundation through a grant awarded to the Alkali Hussaini Foundation, the initiative is designed to strengthen educators’ capacity, promote effective teaching practices, and create a lasting ripple effect of educational excellence within communities.

The day’s session focused on teaching methodology and class management

, a fundamental pillar of effective education. Participants were introduced to modern, learner-centered instructional approaches that prioritize active participation, meaningful engagement, and the practical application of knowledge. Through interactive discussions, collaborative activities, and practical demonstrations, the trainers gained valuable strategies for planning and delivering more impactful lessons.

To encourage experiential learning and peer collaboration, participants were divided into six groups, with each group tasked with developing a lesson plan and curriculum outline aligned with specific educational objectives. The activity fostered creativity, critical thinking, and the application of diverse instructional strategies while allowing participants to share insights and learn from one another’s experiences.

Group leaders later presented their projects, receiving constructive feedback and guidance from facilitators and fellow participants. The presentations reflected a variety of innovative ideas and approaches, demonstrating the wealth of experience, perspectives, and dedication within the training cohort.

Day 2 of the SASES Programme also it has the visit of the Executive Secretary of State Universal Basic Education Board and other officials from the Ministry and they further reinforced the importance of empowering educators with the right knowledge, tools, and methodologies to drive meaningful improvements in teaching and learning outcomes across communities.
