Alkali Hussaini Foundation Launches SASES Project 2026 to Revitalize Science Education
Published: 7/13/2026
Kebbi State has officially launched the SASES Project 2026 (Salvaging Education in Our Schools), a transformative initiative designed to strengthen science education and improve learning outcomes across public schools in the state.
The programme commenced with the training of 70 Master Trainers in key subject areas, including Mathematics, Basic Science, English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. These educators will serve as the first cohort of trainers, equipping themselves with modern teaching strategies before cascading the knowledge to hundreds of teachers across Kebbi State.
Funded by the TY Danjuma Foundation and implemented by the Alkali Hussaini Foundation, the SASES Project aims to address longstanding challenges in science education through practical, learner-centered, and innovative teaching methods. By investing in teacher capacity development, the initiative seeks to improve classroom instruction and ultimately enhance students' academic performance.
The train-the-trainer model adopted by the programme ensures that its impact extends beyond the initial participants. After completing their training, the Master Trainers will conduct step-down sessions for teachers in schools across the state, creating a sustainable system for continuous professional development.
As implementation begins, expectations are high that the SASES Project will significantly improve the quality of science education in Kebbi State. If successfully executed, the programme could serve as a model for similar education reform initiatives across Nigeria, demonstrating how strategic partnerships and targeted teacher development can transform learning outcomes.
The launch of SASES Project 2026 marks an important milestone in Kebbi State's efforts to build a stronger education system one that empowers teachers, inspires students, and lays the foundation for sustainable educational excellence.
