Day 4 of 2025 SASES Programme
Published: 5/8/2025

Day Four of SASES Training Empowers Master Trainers in Science Education (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) The fourth day of the ongoing SASES Training of Master Trainers marked a significant stride in strengthening science education capacity across schools. Under the Salvaging Science Education in our Schools (SASES) programme, 30 Master Trainers underwent intensive sessions in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, furthering their ability to deliver high-quality science instruction at the grassroots level. To ensure focus and depth, the trainers were divided into three groups of 10, with each group attending dedicated classes in one of the core science subjects. The day’s agenda went beyond lectures, incorporating hands-on teaching methods, interactive problem-solving, and practical laboratory techniques designed to enhance subject mastery and pedagogy. To measure the impact of the day’s learning, both pre-tests and post-tests were administered, providing immediate feedback on knowledge gained and areas needing further development. The assessments helped both the facilitators and trainees track progress and reinforce key scientific concepts. The SASES Programme is an initiative aimed at revitalizing science education in Nigerian schools and is sponsored by TY Danjuma Foundation. The Programme is implemented by the Alkali Hussaini Foundation With each passing day, the SASES training is not only equipping Master Trainers with content knowledge but also empowering them with the teaching strategies needed to inspire the next generation of scientists.
